Longer dialogues often humanize people over soundbites. One of my goals for this year is to listen to noises beyond my echo chamber. In one of those efforts, I decided to give Bernie Sanders a listen:
I appreciate Joe Rogan for his open mind and for letting people talk. Although humanity did shine through occasionally, Bernie was unable to elevate conversation above his campaign trail soundbites on climate alarmism and greedy corporations.
Joe did a great job peppering him with climate facts, but not so much on “corporate greed”. From the way Bernie talks about companies, it is clear he never worked for one.
From my experience at an energy service company, I know that everything - everything - is driven by a need to be chosen. Competition to be the provider of choice drives excellence - in innovation and efficiency improvements, which can only be successful when the company is chosen by the best people.
The corporate creed is to be chosen. There is no long-term survival without it. Bernie does not get that capitalism is all about customer and employee choice.
Walmart’s everyday low prices are a shining example of what companies can achieve, with returning employees and many more returning customers, who continue to get more for their money.
Pressure pumper’s innovations have brought everyday low prices to oil & gas companies and their consumers, by placing the sand through which their fractures produce oil & gas cheaper than ever. The only way to achieve these discounts is by more efficient throughput from the best employees in the world.
Lowering prices - it is how you create empowerment for consumers. And consumers are voters, Bernie.
Nicely done, sir. I envy your tolerance (and deeply respect) to be able to listen to Bernie beyond his first sound byte. The man's rantings drive me up a wall.
If I may, a question of curiosity: can fracking technology be used to expand geothermal development?
Right on!
